RCMP investigation leads to arrest following search in South Cariboo

A South Cariboo man is facing multiple charges following an RCMP investigation into alleged threats.

100 Mile House RCMP, alongside the Cariboo Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit, executed a search warrant in the 5400 block of Canim Hendrix Lake Road on Oct. 28.

“A man associated with the residence was arrested a short distance from the home,” says Corporal Jennifer Cooper, RCMP Media Relations Officer.

“He has been identified as 36-year-old Dylan Ryder Gropp and has been charged with a number of offenses. He will remain in custody until his next court date.”

Gropp is being charged with one count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offense; uttering threats to burn, destroy or damage; criminal harassment; and committing a violent offence against an intimate partner.

RCMP have not released further details on the alleged threats and the circumstances leading to the search warrant.

Police were assisted by the North District Emergency Response Team during the operation.
