Anderson Drive road work in West Quesnel delayed until next week

Road work on Anderson Drive in West Quesnel hit a few snags but is expected to finish soon.

City Manager Joel McKay says a project in McLeese Lake added several days of work, delaying paving on Anderson Drive.

The project was originally scheduled to be completed on Oct. 21; the City now says paving will recommence on Monday, Nov. 2.

The City also says the pavers will be working on the south side of the Johnston Bridge.

There have been complaints about the conditions of Anderson Drive in the interim.

McKay says staff has been working with the contractor to grade and cover the road and keep traffic flowing, though he admits that “it hasn’t been perfect.”

The road work is part of the larger project to build new Women’s Transition Housing. City Manager McKay says the project will continue into next year, but the road work affecting Anderson Dr is expected to be completed next week.
