Williams Lake Fire Department responds to house fire at Oak Place

The Williams Lake Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Oak Place last night.

Assistant Fire Chief Cory Boyd said the call came in just before 9 p.m., reporting smoke and flames coming from the home’s laundry room.

The first responding officer confirmed considerable smoke and heat from the structure when he arrived.

Boyd said Firefighters were able to contain the fire and prevent any further spread.

There were no injuries; however, Boyd said the fire damage to the home was extensive.

The Fire Department does not consider the fire to be suspicious

Boyd said that in total, 18 firefighters responded, two command vehicles, and two large apparatus were on scene for approximately two hours.
