Cariboo Regional District releases multi year strategic priorities

The Cariboo Regional District released their four priorities to focus on for the current term of office.

The four priorities include asset management, engagement, planning and development, and relationships with First Nations.

“The whole purpose of us doing strategic plans this way, was if you can keep the number to four or less that you hope to achieve, they become realistically achievable.” says Margo Wagner, CRD Chair.

“When you do a strategic priorities plan of eight or ten items, you’re never gonna get them all done.”

Wagner added that no single priority will have more focus towards it, but rather working towards all of them equally.

She gave a brief overview on how they look to improve upon the priorities, with wanting to increase the one on one meetings had with First Nation communities, replace water and sewage system outdated in areas, use new technology available to get the word out to residents, and plan and develop around the changing weather.

The priorities list will stay for four years, until the next members decide if anything needs to change.

For more information on the strategic priorities, you can find it on the CRD’s website here.
