The hunt for the Golden Buckle will soon begin in Williams Lake

Residents in Williams Lake will be taking part in this year’s Golden Buckle Hunt in May.

This is the 4th year where people search for the buckle, which will be hidden in various spots along trails.

Child and Youth Program Coordinator, Emma Davidson says this year will be slightly different compared to previous.

“This year we’re going to extend the date and include the first week of June to tie into Participaction so, instead of for locations, we’re going to be doing five.” says Davidson.

If someone finds the buckle, you’re able to take a selfie and email it to the recreation complex ([email protected]) and a draw will take place at the end of the event.

Davidson asks that if anyone finds the buckle to not take it, and to leave it at the location where it’s found.

Clues will be posted on the City’s website and the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex’s social media sites (Instagram, Facebook, X), with the first clue being posted on the morning of May 1st.

For the hunt, she recommends people use TrailForks or a similar app, for those unfamiliar with the trail networks in Williams Lake.
