It’s Going To Get Hot And Dry In The Cariboo

A ridge of pressure building over the province is going to bring very warm temperatures to the Cariboo.

Doug Lundquist is a Meteorologist for Environment Canada and he says this ridge will be hard to budge for at least the next week or so.

“As the days go by it’s going continue to heat up. For example, we’re expecting sun all the way through the period. Temperatures getting up to about 25 to 27 today and 30 by tomorrow and continuing in the low 30’s all the way through the weekend”.

According to Environment Canada, the last week of July and the first week of August are usually the hottest and driest two weeks of the year.

The average high for this time of year is only in the low 20’s.

Lundquist says that towards the weekend we could be easily 8 to 10 degrees above average and quite possibly break some records.
