Charity Motorcycle Ride Set To Go In Quesnel

The 2nd annual Kristen Nylen Memorial Ride will take place in Quesnel on Monday.
Organizer Les Nylen says it is a motorcycle ride that leaves McLeese Lake at noon and take approximately 45 minutes to hour to head back to town.
He says they will then meet at Canadian Tire and have a bar-b-q.
Nylen says it is a charity fundraiser for Cops for Cancer with the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.
He says it is a cause that is very dear to him because he lost his daughter to cancer a couple of years ago.
Nylen, who is also riding in Cops for Cancer, says he personally hopes to raise 6 thousand dollars.
16-hundred dollars was raised during last year’s Kristen Nylen Memorial Ride.

Accident on Highway 97 On Ramp Closed Section Briefly

A single vehicle merging onto Highway 97 Northbound in Quesnel, hit a traffic pole. Police and the Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department closed the ramp down as the accident was assessed. Only the driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital with suspected minor injuires.
