Quesnel Hopes To Land Some Airport Funding

Quesnel City Council has given staff the green light to apply for a BC Air Access Program grant.

Jeff Norburn, the Director of Community Services, says the request is to replace the airside sidewalks and siding on the operations building at the Quesnel Regional Airport.

Here, he goes over the costs…

“The combined estimated project cost for these two projects is 50 thousand dollars. The proposed capital plan, which was just approved, has incorporated these projects into the budget, and it based on the assumption that $37,500 in grant funding will be received through the program.”

Norburn says the deadline to apply for the funding is February 18th.

Quesnel has taken advantage of this fund in the past, for an LED runway and lighting upgrade in 2018, and for security gates and an aerodrome instrument approach upgrade in 2016.
