BC Conservative leader resigns

The Leader of the BC Conservative Party has stepped down.

Vanderhoof native Dan Brooks has led the party since April 2014. “I acted as a volunteer, as the leader of this party for almost two years and it’s taken it’s toll on my family so my resignation is right for the party and it’s right for my family.”

“I hope that BC politics treats the next leader better than me.” Brooks added

He says he will be returning his full time focus to his hunting resort in Vanderhoof, but will remain involved with the party on a local level in central BC.

“I hope that my resignation opens up the doors to other people who want to be premier of this province to step forward and say, ‘I have something to offer’”

Brooks will remain on as interim leader until the BC Conservative Party AGM on February 20th.
