Slick conditions causes road closure south of 100 Mile House

100 Mile House RCMP attended a couple accidents, with icy roads playing a factor.

Just before 5:30pm yesterday, police were called out to a bus rollover heading south out of 100 Mile House near 93 Mile.

Sergeant Trevor Medernach says other vehicles were also affected by road conditions.

“While on route, we got another call about another accident of another vehicle in the ditch as well.” says Medernach.

“When we got there, unfortunately the roads were extremely icy, like hard to walk on, and the bus ended up slipping into the ditch with only one occupant and no injuries, just shaken up over the whole incident.”

Medernach added that it was just happenstance that the truck was totally unrelated, just in the same vicinity, with no injuries.

He says that the road was shut down and down to single lane for roughly an hour.

While roads have been, salted, sanded, and de-iced, Medernach noted that drivers should still be cautious when on the road.
