Bouchie Lake Fire Department rushes to RV fire

An RV caught fire in Bouchie Lake over the weekend.

The Bouchie Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call at a home on Blackwater Road on Sunday, Oct. 15, at around 4 p.m.

“We were on scene within 20 minutes, and when we got there, the trailer was pretty much burnt down to the floor,” says Harald Bartel, Assistant Fire Chief of the Bouchie Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

“We attacked the fire, put the rest of it out; there was no worry about exposures catching fire.”

On the property, an RV was fully engulfed in flames; fortunately, it was a fair distance from the home. Bartel said the RV was over a hundred feet away from the home and no mutual aid was needed.

Bartel confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. He said the fire was expected to have started in the front of the RV.
