The regional district lifted Alerts on Wednesday, August 26, in the French Bar Fire Areas 2, 3, and 5, which covered the Dog Creek and Canoe Creek areas.

The district also lifted the Alerts in the Fiftynine Creek/Pear Lake Fire Area 2 in part of Dog Creek, and in Fire Area 5, the north side of Green Lake, on Sunday, August 23.

Residents in the areas are being cautioned that the French Bar and Pear Lake wildfires are still listed as Out of Control by the BC Wildfire Service. Residents are asked to be prepared to evacuate in case another Alert or Order is issued.

The regional district first issued alerts and orders in July because of the threat of wildfires in the area.
