150 Mile House Fire Hall on schedule & on budget

The new 150 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department Hall build continues to make progress.

Cariboo Regional District Manager of Communications Kat Chatten said the concrete is poured, framing is going up and they are on schedule.

“We’re looking at a completion date of early 2027 and this new Hall will be a great improvement. We’ll now have four full bays in the new Hall which is going to replace two usable bays and two really short bays that really couldn’t be utilized, and it’s on budget.”

When the new Hall is built Chatten said the old one will be removed.

“We were lucky enough that we (CRD) could build the new Hall and still utilize the old Hall, we didn’t have to move them out to a different location. Once this one is ready to go the other will be decommissioned and removed from the property.”

Chatten noted that members of the 150 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department are looking forward to the completion of the new Hall.

“Everyone likes it when you get new stuff. You don’t have to worry about doors sticking or paint peeling off. They are a volunteer Fire Department so if anyone wants to experience the new Hall in an exciting new way they are always looking for new members,” Chatten said.
