BCTF will commence job action next week
Teachers voted six weeks ago on whether or not to take job action, and today the BC Teachers’ Federation put some walk in their talk.
President Jim Iker says the first stage of action will commence Wednesday, the 23rd of April. This action will include teachers not supervising students outside of class time and not exchanging communication with principals or administrators.
He’s hopeful though that the next stage of action can be avoided:

Iker says all they want is a fair and reasonable settlement at the bargaining table, but so far the government hasn’t offered anything the teachers would consider to be equitable.
