Gaming Centre Gives Funds Found on Slot Floor to SPCA

The Williams Lake SPCA will be able to provide animals in their care a warm place to stay this winter season through a cheque of $2422.95 from the Signal Point Chances Gaming Centre.

Betty Turatus, Marketing and Event Coordinator with the Centre, says the funds were raised through the Found Money on the Slot Floor Program.

“Money that is found on the premises on the floor, you just can’t pick it up and put in your pocket.”

“Sometimes our customers will also donate money to it, and any unclaimed vouchers are cashed off and are put into that found money jar as well.”

Turatus adds that the Program has been helping those who can’t raise funds for themselves for quite some time now.

“Ten years ago our owner, Meryl Wagner applied through BCLC to which charity they could give the money to.”

“The SPCA was one of the ones that were approved.”

Turatus says the program raises up to $2500 for the SPCA every quarter of the year.
