70 Mile Buffalo Ranch Provides Hides Worn by Hollywood Star in The Revenant

It’s not every day that the South Cariboo can lay claim to Hollywood linkages but a ranch in 70 Mile House can do just that following the mainstream release of The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Owned and Operated by Elisabeth and Rudy Karlen, X-H Buffalo Ranch provided the hides worn by DiCaprio throughout his turn as 1800s frontiersman Hugh Glass.

Elisabeth says she appreciates the attention being paid to their hard work and figures it took at least two hand tanned hides to make the buffalo-hide attire.

The Revenant officially opened in theaters worldwide on Friday after having had a limited release on December 25, 2015.

The movie was filmed in three different countries including Canada in both B.C. and Alberta.
