Giving Shelter One Cupcake At A Time

They were raising money to make life sweeter for animals in Williams Lake.

SPCA  Animal Care Attendant, Heather Mortimer, says their pop-up sweet shop fundraiser, held earlier today, was important to them as they are one of the busiest shelters in BC.

“The money we raise goes directly to animal care and helps us pay our bills so we can continue to take in animals,” she says.

“The Williams Lake SPCA is the third highest in the Province taking in more animals than sixty, seventy percent of the other shelters. Anywhere from 1100 to 1500 animals a year come through our doors.”

Mortimer says they usually hold six to eight fundraisers a year, and that they try really hard to make themselves self-sufficient so that they can stay in business and continue to help the animals that we help.
