3 Candidates Declared for Area F By-Election

Three candidates have been declared for the Cariboo Regional District Area F by-election after the nomination period closed Friday afternoon.

Brice O’Neill, Shannon Rerie, and Maureen LeBourdais are running for Area F Director.

O’Neill and Rerie both ran in the 2018 general election in October against Conrad Turcotte who was unable to take his oath of office due to health issues.

O’Neill has previously served as trustee vice chair for School District 27 and is the executive chef at New World Cafe in Williams Lake.

150 Mile resident Rerie is a high school teacher and moved to the area more than ten years ago.

LeBourdais has been a resident of the Horsefly area for over 40 years and is the owner of MamaQuilla Textiles.

“There’s still a period in which nominations may be challenged and candidates can withdraw so the election will formally be declared on March 4th,” said Chief Election Officer, Alice Johnston.

Area F includes the communities of 150 Mile, Horsefly, and Likely and has a population of about 4,500 people.
