A wildfire located approximately 37 km southeast of Anahim Lake is no longer a fire of note.
Information Officer Trainee with the BC Wildfire Service, Robyn Clark says 100% containment was achieved by tying guards on the east and west flanks of the fire into lakes situated in the north and south.
“The resources will remain in place and the outlook is favorable,” she says.
“Crews will continue mopping up hot spots and will be working towards the interior of the fire from the flanks, and they’ll be doing danger tree falling and assessing as they work inwards.”
Clark adds with the cooler temperatures there is predicted rain in the forecast.
Estimated at 91 hectares in size, the fire as of Wednesday is classified as being held.
