Quesnel Fire Department responds to late night structure fire

A structure fire on Plywood Hill called for a late-night response from the Quesnel Fire Department.

Fire Chief Ron Richert said crews responded to a property on Redstone Road at 10:15 p.m.

“Upon arrival, we had a fully involved mobile home, fully engulfed in flames. Crews were on scene for approximately four and a half hours; we had multiple apparatus on scene.”

Richert says the cause of the fire is still under investigation. He says the fire department has been to the location numerous times for multiple calls, including two previous structure fires.

“We believe it was a trailer from years ago that had been involved in a fire, and it was reconditioned and brought back to livable standards.”

He added there were no injuries in this incident.
