River Rush trade Forward for cash

The Quesnel River Rush has made a trade in the BC Hockey Conference.

The Rush sent 2008-born forward Gavyn Schaufele to the Devon Extreme in the Alberta Junior Hockey League in exchange for what’s called a “Player Development Fee”.

Schaufele was third in scoring for the River Rush last season in the KIJHL with 21 goals and 38 points in just 35 games, but he has struggled a bit this year with just two goals and zero assists in only seven games.

The River Rush are currently last in the five-team Interior Division and eighteenth overall in the BC Hockey Conference with 10 points in 12 games, and a 4-6-1-1 record so far this season.

Quesnel’s next game is against the Merritt Centennials twice this weekend, on Friday, Oct. 23., and Saturday, Oct. 24. in the West Fraser Centre.
