Fire Chief Lance Wilkins says they are doing a haunted house again this year on Saturday, October 24 from 5 p.m. until 9.

“From 5 to 6 o’clock is usually milder for the little kids to go through first. After 6 it’s a little bit more adult. We’ll have a bunch of  hot dogs and candy and stuff for the kids, a campfire out back to sir around and a graveyard  and a maze.”
Wilkins says this year’s event is even bigger as firefighter Joanne Taylor, who organizes the event, has added a room.
This year’s theme is ‘face your fears.’
“It is going to be a little bit twisted maybe, I think there’s lots of spiders and stuff and things like that.’
He says admission is by donation.
“Whatever people donate, the money goes back into it again for next year. Last year they donated enough money that we had 500 dollars left over that we donated to the hospital auxiliary fund.”
He says they had around 600 people attend last year.
Wilkins says they can always use more volunteers at the fire department and he says in the past he has been able to recruit new members that attend this event.
