A 100 Mile House man is facing multiple charges after two home invasions left two men injured.
RCMP Sergeant Brian Lamb says that police received a report of a home invasion in the 6000 block of Bryce Road on Oct. 8, 2026.
“Police attended, and it was determined that a residence was entered where an adult male was assaulted by the suspect,” says Lamb. “The victim sustained what was believed to be serious injuries and was transported by BC Emergency Health Services to the hospital.”
Lamb confirmed that the suspect assaulted the victim using a crowbar. The victim remains in hospital but is recovering.
Later that day, police were directed to another home invasion at a residence on 93 Mile Frontage Road, where another man was assaulted by the same suspect. According to Lamb, the suspect used blunt force with punches and kicks to injure the second victim.
This victim was transported to hospital with injuries that were believed to not be life-threatening.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Robert Williams Jansen, 44, of 100 Mile House. He was arrested later the same day, according to Lamb.
“Jansen was held for court and remanded into custody,” Lamb said. “He has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and two counts of break and enter to commit Assault.”
Jansen remains in custody and is due back in court on Oct. 19.
