100 Mile House murder suspect now scheduled to go to trial next year

A tentative trial date has been set for the first degree murder trial of a 100 Mile House man.
50-year old James Eugene Perkins is due back in Supreme Court in Williams Lake on January 4, 2027.
Several weeks have been set aside.
It was originally scheduled to take place this week (August 25), but was rescheduled due to a voire dire.
The charge is in connection with an incident in October of 2021.
100 Mile House RCMP say they received a 9-1-1 call for a report of what sounded like gunshots in an industrial area of the community.
Police responded and located a person with a gunshot wound who succumbed to their injuries.
A charge was approved two years later and Perkins was arrested without incident.
The investigation involved the North District Major Crime Unit, 100 Mile RCMP, and the Cariboo Crime Reduction Unit.
