Christmas in March-More Snow Expected

Shovelers and snow plows were out Friday morning in Williams Lake following an overnight snowfall.

Alyssa Charbonneau is a meteorologist with Environment Canada.

“Based on the reports at the airport we saw three centimeters fall overnight and through early this morning. We are expecting the snow is going to continue today.”

Charbonneau says in terms of temperatures, they are below normal.

She says however that there is warming on the horizon as temperatures will reach as high as 11°C on Monday.

Today’s winter conditions may have contributed to at least two motor vehicle incidents throughout the Cariboo.

A vehicle had crashed into the back of a home in the 1000 block of Eleventh Avenue North after veering off Twelfth Avenue North in Williams Lake before 9am.

A logging truck meanwhile rolled into the ditch on the Exeter Truck Route in the South Cariboo.

RCMP ask that drivers traveling today to adjust to winter driving conditions.
