Arena Construction Will Not Be Caught On Live Camera

The North Cariboo Joint Planning Committee is a little camera shy…at least when it comes to installing a camera to follow the construction of the new arena.

The politicians chose to simply receive the report and not take any action on the proposal but it was clear by their comments that they were not in favour.

John Massier, the Cariboo Regional District Director for Area C, says he feels the money would be better spent elseware.

He also questioned the timing, saying if they were going to do it the camera should have been up from day one.

Massier says a lot of the foundation work is now done so he feels they have “missed the boat already.”

That was a popular sentiment.

The cost to set it up would have been one thousand dollars plus a thousand dollars of staff time and another 21-hundred a year to administer and produce time lapse videos for YouTube.

There is a camera up for the pool project in Williams Lake.
