Cariboo Spared From Hospital Job Cuts

It’s a bitter sweet victory for hospital workers in the Cariboo.
Jennifer Whiteside, a Spokesperson for the Hospital Employees Union, confirms that they have lost more than a hundred jobs throughout the Interior but not in all communities.
She says regional laundry services will be maintained in some of the smaller communities.
Four jobs have been spared in 100 Mile House and 3 in Williams Lake.
Whiteside says overall, however, it is very disappointing news.
The agreement between Interior Health and Ecotex, a private company, is for 20-years.
