Quesnel Students Are Going To WE Day !

15 students from Parkland Elementary School in Quesnel received a nice surprise on Friday (Oct 14) afternoon.

They were recognized for their local and global actions they’ve taken over the last school year and earned a trip to WE Day in Vancouver next month.

Mike Adams is the Principal at Parkland…

“It’s a big group of people. There is going to be 25 thousand youth there. It’s at Rogers Arena in Vancouver and the focus on the day is moving from me to we, so we begin to think about global events.”

Adams says there will be some incredibly powerful speakers and presenters.

Shamaya Elgie, in grade 7, is one of the students that will be going…

“I am looking forward to WE day. I have never been to it, it is very exciting for me and I don’t know about you Marik, but if I am there and I see what’s happening I will start to cry because it is so emotional.”

Marik Manic, in grade 6, is also going and he says he’s never been on a plane before and that’s what he is excited about.
