Williams Lake Receives Funding from Province for Anti-Racism Programming
A renewed focus on multiculturalism and acceptance in Williams Lake is the goal as the province announced yesterday that it would be footing the bill for a new anti-racism project.
Williams Lake has traditionally been a fairly multicultural city, says MLA Donna Barnett, and this funding will just go to further that:
“I think because of the diversity of the community, people work together and try to have any racism that there is put to bed as quickly as possible.”
The Cariboo-Chilcotin branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association will partner with PeerNetBC to administer the funds and provide a series of experiential anti-racism workshops.
