Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism Pilot Project is Soaring Going Into It’s 2nd Year

Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism welcomed two new team members to their Business Advisory Team.

Chief Executive Officer Amy Thacker said starting this month (April) Destination and Experience Managers Troy Weston will be working in the Central part of the Cariboo and Jacqueline Harper will be looking after the Southern area.

One of the challenges tourism operators face is finding the time to step aside from running the business to find ways to enhance the business,” Thacker said, “our business team is saving operators time and effort by taking advice direct to them.”

Now in it’s second year Thacker said she is very pleased with how this pilot project has taken off.

Our data tells us our teams had more than twenty-four hundred industry connections in this pilot project. We were able to get input into the Destination Development Strategy and change and update priorities that we were focused on. We’ve expanded our accessibility and sustainability programs with that insight. We supported businesses with funding applications, thirty of our operators went through the Canadian Digital Adoption program to bring more tools in to making their business more profitable.”

Thacker added that her goal is to reach more businesses.

She noted the one’s they have been able to engage with are telling the CCCT that it’s exactly what they were looking for, now we need to find the ones we’ve haven’t engaged with and find out what they’re looking for.
