The War Amps key tag service is celebrating its 70th birthday and Cariboo residents can expect to find the tags in their mailboxes starting next week.
Though the service is free, the War Amps are fundraising through the mailers to support child amputees says Public Awareness Officer Jamie Lunn:
“If they choose to donate, where that support goes… it goes to support child amputees across Canada with artificial limbs and also emotional support and that’s something that’s just amazing for these child amputees, and really all amputees across Canada.”
Through seventy years the War Amps have returned more than one-point-five million sets of keys to their owners.
The tags start arriving on January 18th.
