He’s made his first trip out to the community of Likely and left feeling taken aback at what he calls little progress towards supporting businesses affected by the tailings pond breach.
NDP Spokesperson for Tourism, David Eby spoke with four different business owners and UNBC researchers at Quesnel river yesterday.
Eby shares with us his first reaction.
Eby says it’s not just businesses in Likely that are struggling due to the province’s lack of support.
Eby says he will bring forth this information to the next Legislative Assembly and hold the provincial government accountable.
Eby says he plans on coming back to Likely at a further date.
