Quesnel’s 1st ever Gay Pride Parade took place on Saturday with lots of support from the community.
Vice President of the Quesnel Pride Society, Martina Feldman admits she was a little nervous Saturday morning because she wasn’t sure how it was going to be received.
“We started the parade at 2. There was an incredible amount of people that came from Prince George, even from elsewhere around the province so I was pretty happy about it.”
“We had a smooth walk around the parade route. There were tons of people of the side just cheering as we went by.”
“Just an amazing amount of people and amazing support in our community so I was really surprised and really happy.”
Feldman says the Pride Society is already planning for next’s year Parade and are looking forward to a longer parade route and more entertainment.
