Calls up for 100 Mile Fire Rescue

100 Mile House Fire Rescue responded to 471 calls last year.

That’s an increase from 450 in 2017 and 365 in 2016. Most calls last year were medical in nature with rescues and fire calls the second and third highest.

“Out of 82 fire departments that Prince George dispatches, we were fourth busiest, ahead of Williams Lake, ahead of Quesnel, which are much larger cities,” says fire chief Roger Hollander.

The department will be increasing its numbers this February with recruiting drives and an open house at the fire hall Thursday, Feb. 21 from 7pm-8pm. Those interested can contact the department through their website.
