3 positions cut: Quesnel City Council restructuring City Hall

Quesnel City Council has announced restructuring at City Hall.

Mayor Bob Simpson says it will result in the elimination of three management jobs and the creation of some new positions.

Here Simpson talks about why the changes were made…

Simpson says the changes announced Friday will save approximately $250,000 a year starting in 2016 but adds there is still more work to do.

Simpson says they need to find another $275,000 in savings to avoid a tax increase for operations in the 2015-2016 budget.

The positions that were eliminated were Corporate Services Supervisor, GIS Technician, and Communications Supervisor.
