Taseko’s Gibraltar Mine was presented with the 2014 John Ash Safety Award at the Mine Safety Awards Ceremony last month.
Brian Battison Vice President of Corporate Affairs spoke with us this morning about the prestigious award and says it is quite an accomplishment for workers at Gibraltar.
Battison adds that Gibraltar’s dam has been proven as a safe and secure facility in recent dam and safety inspection reports.
The Mine Safety Awards which were established in 1961 by the British Columbia Minister of Mines and Petroleum Resources to recognize the safety record of mines in the province, consists of three competitions and seven different awards.
