Power will be shut off for aproximately four and a half hours this evening in parts of the Cariboo.
Dave Mosure of BC Hydro says the outage is needed to relocate some poles and lines as part of the road widening near Williams Lake which have proved to be unstable.
“After arranging with local government, we’re going to relocate the new poles and lines further back and into a safer section of the hill according to the geotechnical engineers associated with the project,” he says.
The outage is scheduled from 6 pm to 10:30 pm and will affect the Lac La Hache, Williams Lake, 150 Mile House, Likely, Big Lake, Horsefly, Miocene, Quesnel Lake, and Rose Lake areas.
The outage may also affect Country 840 and the Goat, which may be temporarily off air. More information on the outage can be found at BC Hydro’s website here.
