Evacuation Alert in Bowers Lake Fire Area has been lifted

The Cariboo Regional District has given an ‘All Clear’ to residents in the Bowers Lake Fire Area.

The Cariboo Regional District has lifted an Evacuation Alert that has been in place since July 27 for the area on Friday, July 31.

The Alert was for the Bowers Lake Fire, located around 3.4 kilometres southeast of the body of water.

At its largest, the fire reached 150 hectares and was discovered on July 17.

The BC Wildfire Service has this fire listed as “Being Held”, saying the fire is showing Rank 1 fire behaviour, with smouldering spots. The Wildfire Service adds it believes the fire is contained and does not expect it to have more growth.
