A search of an uninsured vehicle led to two arrests and drugs seized by police in the South Cariboo.
100 Mile House RCMP Sergeant, Brian Lamb, says that while police were conducting a patrol along Highway 97 near Lac La Hache on June 11, police observed a vehicle that, when looked into, showed no valid insurance.
Lamb says police stopped the vehicle, per routine, and spoke with the two occupants, an adult male and an adult female.
“Drug paraphernalia was observed in the vehicle, and both were arrested,” Lamb says. “A search of the vehicle yielded several ounces of cocaine, several ounces of methamphetamine, and other items that are believed to be related to drug trafficking.”
The male and female were later released from police custody, pending further investigation.
Lamb says the police’s next step is to forward a package to the BC Prosecution Service for their assessment and testing.
