Quesnel Tradeshow sees more growth with filled vendor list

There will be over 100 vendors packing into this year’s Quesnel Tradeshow, and almost all are local Quesnel businesses.

“We were absolutely packed full at the beginning of March this year,” says Kathy Somerville, Executive Director of the Quesnel & District Chamber of Commerce. “This show filled up so quickly… We try to keep as many locals as we possibly can; that’s our priority in the community.”

Somerville said only six per cent out of the 104 vendors at this year’s Tradeshow, held in Arena 2 of the West Fraser Centre, are from outside of Quesnel. With a select handful from Prince George and Mackenzie, being the lucky ones to have made the cut.

There will be a diverse line of vendors and non-profits on the floor of Arena 2. From car dealerships, spas, fire departments, and the curling club, all of what Quesnel has to offer will be on display.

The Tradeshow hit a new cap of vendors at 104 for this year, two more than last year, which held the record for most vendors. Somerville says that over the last several years, the Tradeshow has been growing to almost needing the full rink at the West Fraser Centre.

“The main focus is to grow business and help our non-profits, and we just get so many people from the community coming out for this event this year,” said Somerville. “It’s just a bonus to these businesses, not only within the community, but also of them working together, it’s a growing opportunity.

The Quesnel Tradeshow begins on Saturday, April 25, starting at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until 5:00 p.m. It will continue on Sunday, April 26, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Tickets are $2 at the door, and children 16 years old and under get in for free.
