The Remembrance Day service and march in 100 Mile House is nearing as poppy boxes are being distributed throughout the Cariboo.
Rick Smale, a Secretary for the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 260 in 100 Mile House, talks about the service
“We always have a service at the community hall, it’s preceded with a march from the marching area behind coach house square. We usually lead off there at 10:30 and march down to the community hall. We have a full-fledged Remembrance Day Service there that lasts about 1 hour.”
Smale says the community is always very supportive year in and year out for Remembrance Day.
He estimates there is only a handful or two of veterans left in the area, with the oldest one being 98 years old.
