Grade nine Lake City wrestler Tyleen Scaiano has accomplished a lot in the four short years that she’s been involved in this sport.
Her next competition is a big one, April 6th to 9th when she travels to Windsor, Ontario to take part in the National Wrestling Championship.
Her mother Laura explains how this dream became a reality.
“She went to provincials in Salmon Arm and she came second. Provincials was done through weight class and she wrestled against a girl in grade 12…we’re hoping she does even better at Nationals.”
Laura went on to say that her daughter is a little nervous being as young as she is going into a competition but she is looking forward to it.
A fundraiser to help Tyleen with the cost of going to Nationals will take place tonight (Saturday) evening at 6 at the Laughing Loon in Williams Lake.
