Likely first responders received a big boost from Cariboo North MLA Coralee Oakes on Thursday.
CRD Area F Director, Joan Sorley says she was just as thrilled as the local fire and rescue volunteers were at receiving a cheque totaling over $7,000.
“I’m really excited that Coralee was able to find that somewhere. Even I expect the difference between being able to provide their service this year and not. I think it was that dire.”
“It doesn’t sound like a lot of money, but for a little volunteer organization like that who struggles with fundraising; they had a shortfall in their funding and this really just fills that gap nicely.”
