Homeowner gets into Christmas spirit with light display for CCDC

A Williams Lake resident is continuing the Christmas tradition of decorating his home with thousands of lights to raise funds for the Cariboo Chilcotin Child Development Centre (CCDC).

Mike Jones says he decided to raise funds through the spectacular display he put together in early November when he learned a former resident was moving.

“I just thought it was pretty neat every time I went by Ken Berry’s place and I heard he was leaving, so I just thought somebody should do it so why not me.”

Jones, says although he is not entirely certain how many lights he has on display, he has put a lot of time in getting set-up to continue the cause.

“I have no idea on the number of lights; I’d say a couple of thousands.”

“I start on it probably a week after when my Halloween stuff goes down. I work on it for most of my days off, probably for about ten days.”

The display is located at 1095 Pigeon Avenue in Williams Lake.
