Nearly 1200 People Left Without Power Yesterday

Nearly 1200 people were without power yesterday afternoon North of Green Lake.

Dave Mosure, BC Hydro official says they actually never found a cause of the outage but there could have been a number of causes.

“It could be a phase slap, like the 2 lines came together in the wind. It could be a branch went across the lines and caused a phase to phase fault which pops open the next isolation point. It could be any number of things but nothing stood out.”

Mosure says that power remained out for about 1.5 hours before line technicians deemed the line safe to re-energize.
