Yuletide Dinner Delivers Joy in Williams Lake

Volunteers packed the gymnasium at Sacred Heart School in Williams Lake Wednesday evening to serve up a yuletide dinner which included 12 hams, 30 turkeys, 300 pounds of potatoes, and 300 jellos for the community.

Vanessa Riplinger is the Operations Manager at the Cariboo-Chilcotin Child Development Centre.

“We’ve had about 400 people come-we’ve been offering rides cause it’s a chilly night out there. We’ve done a great job with the St. Vincent De Paul; we worked together with coordinating it again and it’s worked out wonderful.”

Riplinger says they have been with the Society of St. Vincent De Paul for 2 years now.

She says the 19th annual Yuletide dinner was made possible through many volunteers which included the Ball family, Karen Day, Brice from new World Coffee and Tea House, as well as members of the Williams Lake RCMP.

“Every year the people that come out are so grateful,”Riplinger adds. “Love the stockings, love Santa, and just really had a great evening; so grateful for everything that the community has given to them.”
