CRD Board Applies for Funding for two projects

The Cariboo Regional District will be asking for nearly 100-thousand dollars from the BC Rural Dividend grant program.

The CRD is looking for 96-thousand dollars to support the Cariboo Strong Economic Development Initiative in the Central Cariboo, Chilcotin and North Cariboo.

Last month, the BC Rural Dividend Fund approved the regional district’s application for 32-thousand dollars for the South Cariboo portion of the Cariboo Strong project.

The CRD Board of Directors also agreed to submit an application to the Canada-British Columbia Clean Water and Wastewater Fund for 83 percent of the funding required to make improvements to the 103 Mile Water System.

The system users are still under a boil water advisory which went into effect in the middle of last month.

People affected by the advisory will get a chance to get an update from both the CRD and Interior Health at a public meeting Tuesday night at the 108 community hall.

That public meeting will get underway at 7:30PM.
