A new name with a longer route has been planned for Williams Lake March Against Monsanto.
Organizer Erin Hitchcock says everyone is invited to stand up in the March for Food Justice that’s just one week away from today.
She says there are other companies as well other than Monsanto who are responsible for adding pesticides to our food. She adds that the March will also serve as a  push for Governments to require mandatory labeling of genetically engineered and modified foods.
Although 64 countries around the world have some type of mandatory labeling including the European Union, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Russia and China-Canada is not one of them.
The 2nd annual March takes place May 21st at Cariboo Growers located at 327 Oliver Street starting at noon.
