The wheels have been in motion for a long time to have Williams Lake be a part of the BC Enduro Race Series.
In the first year of this event, Mark Savard, owner of Red Shreds Bike and Board Shed, lobbied to have the Lake City be a part of the circuit but all the sites were filled.
Then last fall, things changed as Savard explains.
“Reps from the series came last year to Williams Lake for the Mountain Bike Tourism Symposium and they went oh my god why haven’t we been here before and doing this. This place is amazing. So they said right then that they would be back and that they would work with us to host a race and bring a couple hundred people to Williams Lake that’s gonna blow their minds.”
Savard admits its quite a bit of work to put this all together but the team his has in place to pull it all off is amazing and he couldn’t ask for better people to work with.
The Williams Lake stop in the BC Enduro Race Series is the May long weekend.
