Red Bluff Sewer Maintenance from August to October

Residents of Red Bluff ought to be aware that there will be some sewer maintenance being done in the area for three months. However, the Cariboo Regional District (CRD) assures that only traffic will be affected.

The CRD has hired a contractor to do regular sewer maintenance flushing and inspections of the Red Bluff sewer systems.

“We do this every year in sections just to keep up with their maintenance,” Kelly McDonald, Utilities Manager of the CRD says. “The work shouldn’t affect anyone except that vehicles and the equipment may be in residents’ way on the roads.”

The maintenance flushing will start along and south of Short Drive, and continue east along Maple Heights Road.

The work involves contract workers, CRD, and Quesnel Septic employees crossing the sewer Right of Ways through various private properties to be able to access manholes.

“It’s good practice to preemptively flush, but we also do CCC cameraing while we do this work,” McDonald explains. “What we are looking for is any deflections in the pipe or damage that might need repairs. We also use it to prioritize potential main replacements in the future.

McDonald says the work will start on August 12 and run into October. He assures residents in the area that they should now experience any service disruptions during this time.
